Meet Beth

From Educator to County Administrator

I started out teaching high school social studies in Henry County,  spent the better part of a decade working in restaurants, and at 27 I bought a CrossFit gym in downtown Eden, North Carolina, where I was the owner, the marketing department, the HR department, and the accountant, usually all before lunch.

Main Street is what pulled me into community and economic development, and I started my first day in local government three weeks before COVID shut the state down.  Cultural and Economic Development Director in Rocky Mount, Economic Development Director in Franklin County, and then County Administrator in Patrick County—I've spent the whole stretch figuring out how rural Virginia actually works.

Why work with me?

I'd rather show you than tell you, so here's a little of what I've actually done.
